Hey so this is my first critique and I hope it's useful.

What I find most interesting about this piece is how dramatic the dark background is which really focusses your subject. The position (not quite centred and off to the right), and play of the lighting really makes your spider stand out.

The composition and the idea is very interesting and is executed nicely. Technical wise the spider body and legs are in focus. I am not sure whether the intent was to have the spider webs so faint in this photo. I almost wish they stood out a little more, but I liked how you were able to capture them in your shot.Cropping the top edge of the shot so it is tigter to the spiders legs would draw less attention to the empty space and a little bit tighter on the right hand side of the shot would work nicely. That of course is a personal opinion.

Other than that I think this piece is great.
Overall, a nicely taken shot and a well thought out concept. Your use of a simple background and clean focus are appealing details. that seems to perfectly fit the photo. Great work!

(P.S I like the simple title as well)
